We are proud to be the exclusive distributors of the AlterG Anti-gravity Treadmill in the UK

The AlterG® Anti-Gravity Treadmill® enhances Physiotherapist’s ability to help patients recover faster; as well as boosting the marketability of their practice. The treadmill is ideal for physiotherapy clinics, rehabilitation facilities, gyms and wellness centres and is the perfect solution for patients looking to regain mobility, develop strength and fitness, and increase range of motion and natural movement – all while minimising stress on injuries.

AlterG’s unique and patented unweighted rehabilitation treadmill technology:

  • Allows patients to move with less pain during physiotherapy sessions whilst reducing the risk of further injury
  • Provides Physiotherapists with an accurate tool to track patient progress, keeping them engaged during rehabilitation
  • Helps clinics and therapists to set themselves apart by offering the most advanced physiotherapy technology available
  • Allows Physiotherapists to easily observe and analyse their patients range of movement
  • Acts as both a rehab device and wellness tool that gets patients excited and motivated to continue using it for regular training

A new approach to Physiotherapy

AlterG’s rehabilitation treadmill easily integrates into any clinic setting. It can be used for:

  • Physiotherapy following an injury or surgery on a lower extremity (hip, knee, ankle or foot)
  • Rehab after total joint replacement
  • Gait training and strengthening for neurological patients
  • Strengthening and conditioning in a fall-safe environment for older patients
  • Weight-loss programs
  • Injury prevention during sport specific conditioning and fitness improvement programs

Business Benefits

As well as supporting patients during their recovery, the Anti-Gravity Treadmill will also drive business to your practice or clinic. The only training equipment of its kind, the Anti-Gravity Treadmill can help you generate revenue and build recognition among your local community and medical professionals.

The unique unweighting capabilities of the AlterG Treadmill allow for earlier and functional rehabilitation of patients with lower extremity injuries, or who have had lower body surgery such as a total knee replacement.

In other words, patients can be cleared to begin rehabilitating using the AlterG earlier than it might otherwise be safe for them to do so on land. By controlling body weight in 1% increments over a range of 20% – 100% body weight, patients cleared for only partial weight-bearing activities can in fact walk or run on the AlterG. This allows patients to work towards restoring a normal gait pattern, range of motion, endurance, and other functional outcome measures sooner.

Since it allows patients who are not yet able to walk or run on land to do so (and with normal gait mechanics), rehabilitation on the AlterG is also functional – it directly targets patient goals of walking and running.

The AlterG can also offer unique rehabilitation benefits for patients suffering from knee osteoarthritis, allowing them to perform optimal symptom-free exercise therapy which can reduce symptoms and delay disease progression.

Professional sports

“I think it’s the best piece of equipment made for running in the last 30 years, the most revolutionary piece of equipment, without a doubt!” – Alberto Salazar Director of Nike Oregon Project ( Mo Farah trainer)

The Anti-Gravity Treadmill is having a very positive effect on our patients both physically and psychologically. I would definitely recommend the treadmill to any hospital or Physiotherapy practice,’’ – Mark Maxwell, Physiotherapy Department, Torbay Hospital

Private Medical

Since installing the treadmill we have noticed huge benefits to our patients. We found that there were stages of rehabilitation (early post fracture for example) where we couldn’t progress the patient as much as we would have liked because we didn’t want to overload the body. We can now do this gradually and effectively on the Anti-Gravity Treadmill.’ – Jon Swan, Physiotherapy Manager, Harbour Hospital

“Getting on the treadmill was really my first step back into training and running. It was a real relief to be able to run normally again,” – former private with the 1st Battalion Yorkshire Regiment

We can’t say it much better than our friends at the Merlin MS centre in Cornwall

“The AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill provides partial weight-bearing pain-free exercise. It can improve balance, gait, stride length and range of motion. It helps reduce falls and gives clients greater confidence in their daily activitie

We have only had this piece of equipment at the centre for a matter of weeks but the response from our clients has been incredible.”

Before my stroke, I played sport and had been fit. The treadmill let me run for the first time in five years. It gave me confidence to do things I couldn’t before if the machine stays at Merlin I would be able to build up my strength and retain my muscles. ”

David Neal who suffered a stroke in 2014

“It was fantastic to get that feeling of running again- like running on air. I hope to see improvements in my balance as my walking becomes more assured.”

Ben Marshall who was diagnosed with MS 12 years ago
